This week we're stoked to offer two excellent posters by the brilliant Leslie Herman. Leslie has quickly become one of our favorite illustrators to work with for his unique vision and approach to each project. We're thrilled to have partnered up on new posters for two comedies, Mike Judge's hilariously under-appreciated IDIOCRACY, and the Coen Brothers' classic-comedy caper, RAISING ARIZONA. Leslie absolutely crushed both of these posters and we adore them both.

These posters will be available on Thursday (5/16) at a random time via mondotees.com.

"A brilliant dystopian documentary...oh, hold up, this was from 2006? Uncanny.  Trying to make something as stupidly funny as this movie while attempting poignant political commentary was an interesting challenge. I had to ask myself what would a symbol of America look like in this world that Mike Judge created. What does Uncle Sam and American idealism look like now? What do we worship and what controls how we think? Eh, it's pretty similar to now: indulgence, money, and corporate greed. Plus these dumb fucking hats practically exist (the second dumbest hat in the country)." -Leslie Herman

RAISING ARIZONA by Leslie Herman

"When I first saw RAISING ARIZONA years ago, my takeaway was pure ridiculousness. Going back years later, it feels almost more tragic than comedic. It's the story of a man who just wants to do right and live his version of the American Dream, but can't resist going back to his old criminal ways as a means to achieve that dream. Every scene in this movie is brilliant, which made it hard to choose where to start in making this poster. The scene I choose seems to me the best representation of HI's struggle between good and bad: a moment of foolish desperation from a man trying to do the best he can to take care of his family and provide diapers for their "son" while wearing a "panties" on his head. We felt it captured the heartbreak and the hilarity that runs throughout the movie - one that has us following the larger-than-life chaos of our hero's choices, and their consequences as though we're right there with him." -Leslie Herman
