New Poster Release: THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY by Greg Ruth & THE HOST by

This week we're proud to offer the next two installments in our ongoing partnership with Black Dragon Press.

Featuring a double bill for two brilliant, albeit completely different, bits of filmmaking: Ingmar Bergman’s timeless family drama, THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY, and Bong Joon-ho’s superb monster movie, THE HOST.

Doing justice to Ingmar Bergman’s films is no mean feat, but Greg Ruth has made it look easy with his poster for THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY. Greg has given us a drop-dead gorgeous classic alternative movie poster that echoes Bergman’s (and cinematographer Sven Nykvist’s) deft use of camera angles and framing, and deploys a masterful rendering of Karin’s dress (I mean, just look at the technique on that sleeve).

THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY comes in two editions: a US variant from an edition of 120 copies available through Mondo, and an orange-tinted UK variant from an edition of just 50 copies available through Black Dragon Press.

Bong Joon-ho’s THE HOST is, in many ways, the perfect monster movie. Twisting and turning from horror to drama to oddball comedy to action and back again, THE HOST is “the defining monster movie of the 21st century” (Indiewire). Like the film, George Bletsis has chosen to focus unashamedly on the monster in its full slimy glory (which was apparently modeled after Steve Buscemi’s character in FARGO) just moments before the Park family’s evening is turned upside down.

THE HOST comes in three color ways: a yellow US variant from an edition of 100 copies available through Mondo, and red and blue UK variants from an edition of just 30 copies each available through Black Dragon Press.

THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY (US variant) and THE HOST (Yellow US variant) will be available Wednesday, July 3rd at a random time via mondotees.com. THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY (UK version) and THE HOST (Red and Blue UK version) will be available at 5PM UK time via Black Dragon Press.
